The training workshop development is part of a Provincial Capacity Building Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Within the framework of the Project: “Provincial Capacity Building -SPC” funded by USAID, Department of State Administration (SOG), with SPC Project Management Board and representatives from Portland University (USA), co-organized a discussion session on training program development for localities. The training program focused on the theme of “Building a constructive government to strengthen the economic management capacity of provinces in new contexts” (Facilitative Provincial Governments to Strengthen Economic Governance) on the morning of May 14 / 2020.

Attending the seminar on the side of UEH was the presence of Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Head of State Administration Department, PhD. Nguyen Quynh Huy – Deputy Head of State Administration Department, PhD. Nguyen Huu Lam – Director of Management Research & Development Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Lecturers of State Management Department. On the side of Chemonics International, the United States has Mr. Peter Vaz – Project Manager of “Provincial Capacity Building” with members of SPC project and representatives of Chemonics International. The seminar also had the participation of Prof. Marcus Ingle, Prof. Steve Greenwood, and Ms. Julia Babcock of Portland University (PSU).

The workshop focused on clarifying the basis for developing training programs and changing directions to better meet the needs of localities in the context of improving economic management capacity. Representatives of PSU University presented ideas, philosophies and approaches on training content development, skills development for tectonic government programs in localities towards capacity building. provincial level under SPC Project. Participants had discussions about adjusting the training content. The workshop is an opportunity for the parties to look back on the main issues when developing a practical training program in the locality, especially to clarify the capacity framework in economic management, necessary skills and the basis of the assessment. training needs price.
